Poshmark - Consignment shopping/selling from your phone!

Consignment 2.0
Seriously I'm so upset I had no part in creating this. It's a shoppers paradise! <3

I wont mention names of chain consignment stores, but we all know how it goes. You get back 10% of what you actually purchased your item at and you leave the store feeling frustrated, still pretty broke (if you're a college student like me), and kind of sad that you let an item that you "had to have" at one point go.

Personally, I do a huge haul when I decide to go 1) So I don't actually know what they've taken so I don't miss it as much and 2) It's the only way I'll feel like I made any money. NOT. ANY. MORE.

I originally posted this a few months ago but deleted it and wanted to add more to it and beef up this post.

I decided to do my own Q&A to help move this along.

Q What exactly is it? - I'm so glad you asked, young grasshoppa'. ;)
A Consignment. It is giving your old clothes, accessories, etc a new life with someone else.

Q How do I get it?
A It's an app for both iPhone & Android. They also recently launched a website.

Q What do I do to sell my stuff?
A It starts with taking pictures of your items you want to sell, then you'll have fields to fill out. It's pretty simple it's the pictures, a description of the item, price you bought it for (or what it cost originally), the price you want to sell it for, the brand, etc. As people are searching on the app or website they now can find your stuff. Maybe they like a specific brand or are just searching their size, either way there is definitely hope to sell your stuff!

Q How did you find it?
A I stumbled upon this app because I had a very specific shirt I was looking for as part of my halloween costume last year. Someone had the shirt I was looking for, in the color I was looking for it in, IN MY SIZE, on this app for $5. WIN!!!!! Now shipping was $4.99 so it cost me $10 in the end, but who cares!?  Then... I decided to try my hand at selling.

Q Someone bought my item, what now?
A First, YAY! Second, you will get an e-mail with a shipping label. You package your stuff up (get the free boxes from the post office FYI) and then slap that label on it. Drop it off to the USPS and boom, you wait for them to accept your package.

Q But how do I get my money?
A You can use it in the app -OR- request a check by mail -OR- have it go into your bank via direct deposit.

Q How much have you made?
A To date (01/16) I have sold 46 items and made $766. I am a Top 10% seller and a Top-rated seller with an average rating of 4.9 (from 41 reviewers).

This makes the shopping addict in me giggle with glee!!!

When you download the app use the code BAKLP to earn us both $5 credit.
(Credits can be redeemed for cash or used within the app.)
